THE LORD WILL BE THERE WITH IS!

Second the Name reminds us that God chooses to live among men (people). The New Jerusalem that Ezekiel saw was to be no gost town; it will be teeming with God’s people. The saints of all ages will live there and worship the Lamb….and they shall reign for ever and ever” (Rev.22:5). I believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is coming back to this earth and that He will conquer satan and all of his devilish servants once and for all. I believe He will set up His Kingdom, and all of the saved people will reign with Him. And I believe all suffering, sorrow, and pain will be abolished in that Kingdom. People will no longer struggle to make a living, but will live to praise the Son of God. The Lord will be there in His Kingdom, and we will be with Him!

THE LORD IS HERE – NOW!

Third, and most important for our lives today, this Name reminds us that the Lord is already living among His people. He is already reigning in your heart if you are a Christian. He has already set up His throne in your live if you have surrendered your live to Him. Other people wear t-shirtd promoting their favorite beer or tennis shoes, but a Cristian’s life should advertise who lives within. A Cristian’s life should say just as boldly as a t-shirt does: “Yahweh Shammah – the Lord is there”.

THE LORD IS THERE IN TROUBLE

How wonderful is it to be able to say: “I have a refuge from my problems. I have someone I can turn to. I have a friend to comfort me, no matter what happens”. That’s exactly what the Lord promises to you. “God is our refige and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear; even through the earth be removed, and through mountains be carried into the midst of seas. Though its water roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with its swelling” (Ps.46:1-3). Everything in your world may turn upside down, but the Lord will still be there to comfort and help you!

THE LORD IS THERE IN LONELINESS.

“For the Lord God will help me, therefore shall I not be confounded. He is near that justifieth me, who will contend with me? Let us stand together…” (Is. 50:7,8). “Thou are near, O Lord; and all thy commandments are truth” (Ps.119:151). “Seek ye the Lord while He may be found, call ye upon Him while He is near” (Is.55:6). Can there be any doubt that the Lord is with you today, whether you recognize Him or not? He cares for you. He wants to help you. He is closer to you thhan any human being because He made you and His Spirit is speaking to you. But so long as you reject Him, you will feel lonely. You won’t actually be alone, but you’ll feel lonely because you shun the God who is there. We must accept and acknoledge Him.
